Beginner Spinning Class: Hands-On Wheel Instruction

Description

In this class, you will learn the basics of spinning yarn on a spinning wheel. We will discuss fiber and how it is processed, cover basic terminology, and how a spinning wheel works. You will have plenty of hands-on time with the Ladybug Spinning Wheel and have the opportunity to try other Schacht wheels. In the morning, we will cover different kinds of fiber, where they come from, and the history of spinning. We will begin spinning on the spinning wheel, break for lunch, then come back to the wheel. In the afternoon, we will work on putting more yarn on another bobbin so you can try your hand at plying. You will leave the class with a plied mini skein.
